PBS 2025 NFT

Each year, the summit invites a Hawaii-based artist to produce an artwork which captures the essence of blockchain and crypto. Based on the concept of "POAP" - proof-of-attendance protocol - the artwork is transformed into a digital collectible (as a non-fungible token, "NFT") for summit attendees to commemorate their participation.

"It was a fun winding road, the creative process behind this artwork featuring the shiba inu dog on the Dogecoin logo. First, I came up with the concept of creating cryptocurrency coin 'lei' as a nod to Hawai'i and its culture. Next, in looking up the Dogecoin logo, I unexpectedly fell in love with the mischievous yet innocent and playful grin on the Doge dog's face. So I decided to make a portrait of him, but island style, wearing an aloha style shirt filled with doodles I love to make, enjoying a fresh coconut in the Hawaiian islands with the sun setting in the background. The cryptocurrency coin logos featured in the 'lei' are among the top most purchased and traded thus far in 2025: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana and XRP, according to Google. The sunset behind the coin 'lei' can also be representative of the sun going down at the end of a trading day, although the crypto markets are open 24/7."
